Thats unheard of in chicago especially in the west loop!

You can find great deals you just need to look & especially since the market has taken a serious hit. Negotiate with private owners to get the most for your money!
I've been browsing apartments.com but damn...that is cheap for what you get.

top floor skyline view and garage for car and bike...me want.

i think my buddy has a apartment building right now. its down by chinatown.

"Num Rooms: 3
Num Baths: 2
2131 South Archer Ave

This is for a 3 bedroom apartment with a full bath on the top floor and a half bath on the lower floor. Comes with kitchen and living room. Amazing location, very close to the Chinatown Red Line stop and convenient location for the CTA #62 Bus as well as the #21 Cermak bus."

no indoor parking tho. has a back balcony.

TIA
I'm a Realtor so I speak from experience, you can find many condo's for rent in the MLS. Visit Realtor.com and search for lease property.

This should go easy for you.

Default where to live in Chicago? (pt2 since my first one was deleted?)

Anywho, I think I'll be moving to downtown Chicago somewhere next year.

I live in Indiana now where land is abundant. I have my GS, a Subaru, and maaaaybe adding a bike next year. I also work on my cars.

Now, for those of you guys living in Chicago, where do you work on your car? Or is this a luxury? I lived in Tokyo and we just worked on our cars on random parking lots during the middle of the night but probably not what I should be doing in Chicago...so do you guys rent a warehouse or garage of some sort? Or just say eff it and move out to suburbia?

TIA.

I don't really have much to say on this since when I lived in the city part of Chicago I was still a baby.
Being in suburbia now for quite a while I do like the place where I live, education is decent, it's quiet, and it's close by ... everything really. Everything is nearly under 1 hour away.
working on cars... I do it in my driveway, garge, side of the road, and wow yeah even in the parking garages, but that's only if stuff craps out which it rarely does!
My neighborhood. (as of recent!)

^ Yea he is the pimp daddy of the Chicago Group lol...

You sure the old thread was deleted? the threads fall off pretty quickly in this section. I enjoy the burbs as I can go to the city when I want. With a family and not being single for me the City doesnt have much to offer. I can go for the night life and other things and still make it in ~ 45 min or less....Right now if I was single and looking the City is the place to be and great time to get something for less and make some good profit in 5 years when this market turns!

West loop (by United Center) is a nice area. It has been revamped lately with new town homes, but it is not cheap by any means. I would consider the burbs by a rail network of you plan to work in the city.

Well, I'll be just out of grad school so I'll be **** poor. I wish I could afford a condo or something to just buy...unless the market has gone down so bad to the point where I can buy cheaper than rent.
