okay how can i connect wireless to the xbox? i have a wireless router at home and a usb wireless adapter. will this not work?

basically what I can see is that it wont take a usb wireless? It wants it to go through the Ethernet connection to work. so since I already have the USB linkys can I just get an adapter for this to allow it to work? it also doesnt have a power supply so I would need the Ethernet adapter to power it up if possible. I searched and found this product that plugs into the wall that allows wireless and uses Ethernet but I have enough things plugged in everywhere

Yeah, I don't think you can use a wireless router, it must be connected with a Ethernet cable. I don't have a 360, but that is how I worked it for me Xbox.

I found something from Linkys that is called G-Game or something like that...its ~ 60$ and will do what i need and should work with my router. will find out when my son and I battle the crowds tomorrow to get this to work. the graphics are by far better on the new xbox from the 1st one. He has all these games, last year it was the Wii, but I just dont get into this stuff like he does so long he is having fun that is all that matters to me!

Mike. I think this will work for what you need. I have one. Easy setup and it works perfectly for my Slingbox. It says it works for the XBox 360:

Thanks! I will try that tomorrow am to see if I can find one. I am sure someone will have one that will work. I wish I knew this. The Wii worked with out anything so I assumed this one would also. Oh well...

I've got three of these for the kids PCs that didn't have wireless built-in. It is cheap (~$53) and works in all three modes. Can also run off USB power so you don't need the wall wart.

interesting that its a usb? I have my usb home network and if I plug it in it wont detect it? When you plug this in did it read it or what specifically did you do to set it up. When I have it plugged in and got to the settings wireless so not an option so I was assuming it was not powering it up and I also got him the rockband and that requires a usb 4 way that has a plug to power it up?

I think I am going to get the Ethernet bridge today if I can find one. They seem to be less and will work with my home network from what I am reading and it can be used with other things down the road.

I agree this should have been part of the elite kit? The Wii its built into the unit

I always thought it was a proprietary device and had to be used for Xbox 360, Thats why I thought it was kind of a ripoff. Its pretty much plug/play the 360 will see it right away under settings, I use MAC filtering only so all I had to do is enable the MAC Address.

Another cool thing is if you install the Zune software on your PC you can stream your videos/pics to your Xbox.

Probably another 2 weeks until my car is done, I borrowed a friends Tahoe so I been flying in this snow!

microsoft got some extra cash from me. I was only able to find the xbox usb and nothing else. But the little guy is having fun so its all good!
