MetroMentors Winter Carnival Sunday, January 25th
Chicago CL,
As some of you know, one of volunteer activities that I participate in is serving as an advisory board member for MetroMentors (Metropolitan Family Services of DuPage). MetroMentors currently serves over 60+ families within 6 sites located throughout DuPage County. The program has really grown a staggering amount since its start in 2006 which shows not only its demand but also its community support. For the 2nd consecutive year, MetroMentors will host a Winter Carnival event located at Seven Bridges Ice Arena in Woodridge on Sunday January 25th. Last year over 200 families attended the event which included games, skating (of course), food and a special appearance from Skates (Chicago Wolves Mascot).
Of course part of the success of the program comes from support and sponsorships within the community and beyond. Ha Steve,
I like "Skates" and posted a pic with that cool Wolves theme character on CL in October. I was so proud of that pic. Sounds like a great event you are part of.

Hey guys....the event was a great success (yet again)! All the families had a lot of fun! I've been a big brother (big brothers/big sisters) for the last 5 years. It's really a great feeling being able to give back to the community and see what a large effect you can have in a mentoree's life. If you guys are ever interested in becoming a mentor, please let me know and I can put you in touch with the right people. Here are some pics from the event:
