Default Local auto shop for lug nuts?

I'm in the market for some conical/tapered lug nuts but shopping online only gets you so far.

Ideally, I'd like to see the nuts in person before buying... maybe even a test fitting.

I know of Fizz and One 6 in the Chicagoland area.

Any other good shops that I can visit? I live in Schaumburg so the closer the better.

Thanks

Top Speed has some. depends on what lug nuts youre looking for. i think they carry 5zigen, rays and a few others. should call in and find out: 773-847-1188

dunno if they'll let you test fit though. ive experienced the duraluminum rays lugs. they're pretty nice. owned 3 sets in the past.

imo, anything over 100 bucks for lugs are considered good lugs. just dont go for any cheap lugs like muteki.

if you want to be baller, get the project kics. its supposed that they do not damage your lugs because the top of their lugs spin freely.

I don't really wanna rock Rays/Work lugs since I don't have their wheels.

I've seen the PK ones and I'm not a fan of their appearance.

I'm prepared to drop $100+ on lugs.. I just wanna find the right ones. I love the 5Zigen ones but they are open ended and I don't want that.

Hmmmmmmm

I just got my set of R40's from Nigel, great prices. Gotta get Project Kics, better then typical tuner lugs with the common locks. And you can keep lugs forever if you take proper care of them, so you can use them for your next set of wheels also.

Otherwise, I'd recommend Top Speed in Chicago for lugs too, they care some as aforementioned in stock, the Rays are very nice.

Top Speeds lugs are okay.
Some are really just plain crap but the ones that obviously cost a bit more decent.
I recommend the Muteki as well as the Rays ones I ran them previously in my old G and they were great.
Right now I run 1 set of Gorilla lugs and another set of rays spline.

Make sure you get the right thread pitching too so the your nuts go on no problem!

I will have to test these out before I buy them. Still on the fence. I definitely wouldn't get that finish though. My rims are a darker gray color.

Eh, don't feel like getting ripped off. Might be a good place to see them in person though.

Yeah well, I haven't heard people complain about these but they are really cheap.

Any issues with open end lug nuts and rust?

Muteki is crap?
I never had issues with them...

Oh well, I still go with my Rays!!

Jason, DON'T go to Car Boutique.
Rip-offs...
lmao, 50 bucks+ tax for nokyas? where you can get them online for 20?
Talk about horrible customer service as well.

In my previous G I ran open ended lugs as well as on the solara for a year and a half through winter, etc, and no rust no nothing.. Just my .02.

Top Speed does have many lugs in stock, but they are overpriced on everything. I would browse their selection and then go home and order online. I have done that many times.

Seriously. Plus, their stock isn't very impressive either. A lot of Hummer stuff.

Interesting. I've been told by many about the rust issue but maybe it depends on other factors...
