Hey Guys,

I have a 2002 GS4 that's been sitting in my brother's garage since April of 2008. I haven't driven or registered the car since. My question is, if I should have registered it again in May of 2008, but, I failed to do so, will I have to pay for the past 2 years of registration if I attempt to register it this week? I just don't think that I should have to pay for registration from May 2008 to May 2009 if the vehicle hadn't been driven at all.

I'm not a 100% sure, but you might have to pay a penalty/late fee since you let it reg. lapse. Check http://www.cyberdriveillinois.org/

^ what if you can provide the car wasnt in use?? I dont know this either and that is BS IMO if they can charge you for something that was not in use on the roads. May be better to apply for new tags if thats the case.
