Hey guys,

I'm flying out to Columbus OH to visit family and we planned to make a trip up to Chicago. So what is there to see, where should we go, what should we eat?

Tom,

We have friends in Groveport. They took me to a military museum there that was interesting if you're into that. They have an Austrian tank donated by our Governor. Have a fun trip.

why not burts pizza then? the creator of that style of pizza and former owner owns burts. but becareful call ahead and bring cash.. u can go to hot doug's also they have been becoming more famous.. bring cash get there early and get ready to wait. duck fat fries on sats i believe. why not go to the shed, the art museum, or navy pier? then enjoy some shopping?

Into the touristy things?

Weather on the 24th should be great (I know this because I'm planning a car meet that day ) so maybe wander around downtown.

Hello Lexiss,

You may want to check out Chinatown off Archer and Wentworth st. Won Kow and Mandarin Kitchen have excellent food. For pizza, you have your pic of the litter in the Chicago Loop or central business district (CBD). I would make sure to check out Navy Pier, possibly John Hancock Observatory for the newer open air and ledge, Museum of Science and Industry (time permitting, need at least half a day), Millenium Park, Lakefront (bring a warm coat), etc.

Thanks for the ideas!

We really don't have a specific plan, I know we will not be able to see everything because were only there for such a short time.

I just wanted a few of the most popular things to do in the city, and I personally enjoy taking tours because you always learn things that you might never know if you just drove thru a city.

You have to try Italian beef and for that you have to go to Johnny's on North ave. Take a tour of downtown. Visit the south side at night and you wont have to go to a haunted house. Go to humboldt park, that part of town is not the best either but the park is beautiful. You have to Grant Park in the loop thats where the Bean is. Go to the sears tower/willis tower. Take a river tour if the weather permits.

Assuming your a gear head you have to hit up strats on north ave as well, its a diner and thats where all the gear heads hang out on the weakend.
