Default Oil Change

I've always wondered if I should just take my RX 300 to get an oil change from Elgin Toyota who said it would only be around $27-30 instead of Woodfield Lexus (where I've always taken it) who charges me $45-60.

Is there any difference between the job being done? I mean a Lexus is a Toyota after all.

Only difference between them is at Lexus ur paying for a "service" and at Toyota your paying for a oil change.

Is there any difference between the oil being used? I heard that Toyota uses cheaper oil and thus making the car have more frequent oil changes.

i couldnt tell you what brand oil they use but no matter what brand they use they need to meet toyota specs and they have the same time frame as lexus. all there cars go 5k miles and if yours is 0w20 then its 10k and if your cap has both of them then its 5k miles.

I would if you don't want to change it yourself. I have done this in the past with a few of my company cars and never had any issues. I just wouldn't trust Jiffy Lube or any of those quick lube places. Either the dealer or change it yourself

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO QUICK LUBE PLACES... I REPEAT DO NOT. they do not always tighten down there filters and or there plugs. we see more bad then good come from those places. and yes like Bezik777 it is fine to go to toyota..
