Woodfield Lexus
So I'm looking to get out my IS350 and into something a little bit bigger. While searching on the internet I came across what could possibly be my future used vehicle located at Woodfield Lexus. According to reviews online and on CL this dealership gets high marks. My problem is that I have never purchased a car out of state before and also live 2000 miles away and have no way of "kicking the tires" prior to purchase. I also wanted to do a Pre Purchase Inspection but don't have a clue on which mechanics to trust in that area.
Carfax turns out clean but we all know its only a tool and is not always 100% accurate.
I registered the vin on mylexus.com and the 3 pages of service history looks good.
Heres where I need the forums assistance, if anyone is going into this dealer for service in the near future could you possibly take a look a 2005 LS430 Grey exterior / Blk interior stock#5379. I'm thinking I might have to fly out there regardless prior to making my final decision.
Thanks guys...

good question... i thought about selling it privately but then again it might take awhile for it to sell unless i let it go for dirt cheap. the thought came to mind about driving it to chicago and possibly do a trade in with the dealer for the car but going by kbb my car is worth 3k more so i dont know how that would work out.
i wish this car was closer to me i would be all over it.

Yea my fear is if they say its worth one thing, then you have the car here and they give you a different offer....its a common game with dealers in IL even with internet traffic. IMO any dealer would take advantage of you being from out of state knowing your not going back home in your IS.
I would suggest to keep looking locally, this way you can walk if they play games or it just isn't worth buying.

I bought my GS from there and had a good experience with their sale staff. might not talk them down on the price much, but i dont think theyll give you a higher price.
One of the parking sensors was broken, but they took care of it under the CPO.
If you are going to go out there, make sure to look at the details and the small things - back up cam, navigation version, heated/cooled seats
