i just tinker with the settings in manual mode. the only time i use auto mode is if im sniping a CLH member for the sighting thread. follow the basics:
high shutter speed = dark picture.
low shutter speed = bright picture.
high aperture = detailed background.
low aperture = blurry background.
BUT, aperture also messes with how much light gets into the photo too. so:
high aperture: darker picture
low aperture: brighter picture
so, depending on your shot, you have to mess around with both settings and find the sweet spot. it takes a couple of trys, thats why when i shoot i take multiple pics so later when i upload them onto the computer i just pick which one looks the best of the batch. its all mostly trial an error.
P.S. i also use photoshop to touch up pictures too. that makes a huge, HUGE difference. and always keep your ISO at 100.

you could try download spyhunter though it only scans for free, the prog doesn't delete anything... unless you pay to unlock it. but, it tells you where in the registry the problem(s) are. from there just go into regedit and delete the bad files.
after that... try this for avg... 8MEH-RXYFD-JUV72-8922R-FTBZ6-QEMBR-ACED
