Haha, modding the spyder already huh? Which headers and springs did you get? You should have picked up the hardtop from my other friend who was selling his, except it's in black. Soon as I can get a safety check maybe we'll meet up.

hmm someone no likey sony? ![Stick Out Tongue](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
nothing wrong with any brand name, you just have to research for yourself what you need, what works/ what doesn't. granted there are some crappy brands out there but in terms of the top tier brand names, its all preferences... apples and oranges.
now in terms of who makes the lcd panels yes there are only a few manufacturers but to say samsung makes sony lcds... umm not exactly correct. i think you're reading too much myth and hearsay from the net, etc.
sony and samsung became partners in lcd panels several years back infact sony is also in partnership with sharp. sorry it just makes sense in the business world to partner up, sharing cost just makes sense.
so that all said, sony and samsung lcd panels are pretty close in quality![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
it really comes down to is the other features and styles you prefer. also remember all HD panels whether LCD or Plasma are tweaked to the extreme at the stores... so ALL hd panels need to be calibrated once you plug it in.
me personally i like the newer line of sony bravias being as theres more features for the money and the overall look has improved. also another reason for me is that most of the new sony equipment has the same user interfaces, XMB; or xross media bar. so if you have a ps3 and a bravia tv then the menus are all similar and thus easier to operate. but if you don't have multiple sony products then this isn't an issue.
so, once you have your HDtv (hopefully you got one with the most hdmi inputs possible, cuz using splitters on hdmi isn't the same as analog cables) turn off all the extra enhancing features and start from there. basically until all of your media content is viewed in HD you're going to need to setup your tv for a compromise of SD and HD video. if you're not that confident on setting up your HDtv yourself theres always the professional route where they use television test equipment to calibrate your set or you can find various media to do it yourself... amazon.com![Wink](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
now once thats done, what about the cables? first go to monoprice.com as they are pretty much hands down the cheapest and most reliable. amazon is fine as well but whatever you do... STAY AWAY FROM MONSTER CABLE!!!
way overpriced. understand that hdmi is digital and all digital cables do the same thing... transfer ones and zeroes. also the fact that hdmi cables are more convienent because its only 1 cable for audio/ video where as a component cable is 4 very thick rca cables which take up more space (side note:component is only capable of 1080i)
so, like previously said if your oceanic hd box doesn't have a hdmi output go and request one that does as that will clean up your cable mess and the fact that hdmi can transfer digital surround sound (assuming you have a hdmi reciever). though understand that currently oceanic and the majority of cable companies only broadcast in 720p or 1080i. but thats mostly due to equipement and bandwidth costs.
and really 1080p content for the most part is only available with bluray (or the dead HDDVD format) thou, dishnetwork seems to broadcast 1080p according to their commercials. i'd think there has to be an extreme amount of compression to send those signals out and the fact that most of thier so-called 1080p content is up-converted.
okay once all thats done where else can you get HD media content from?
if you're into newsgroups, bit torrent or any other ptp systems then you should easily be able to find 720p & 1080p media as mkv files![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
but how do you watch those files on your shiny new hdtv?
go out and get a small computer that has a hdmi output and run that into your hdtv, and that should look pretty nice. another option is to get yourself some sort of media player, basically a small box with a graphic card that outputs hdmi and you provide the hard drive. popcorn hour and western digital wd hd media player are 2 media players that i know of.

Nice "essay" there Brent
. With that kind of writing, looks like "officer" material in the National Guard.
Hey, I haven't forgotten about your ammo can, I'm still asking around my peeps.

i still don't have it on-line yet.
i wanna go "hard wire" instead of wireless, so i need to get me a pretty long usb cable.
my son who is stationed in germany is waiting for me to get it on-line too.
he said "he's ready to dish out the mariokart asswhipping".....lol
as soon as i get it up and running, i'll let you know my # and user name!
