Hey guys,

I am looking for a place to stay for about a month while I go to Hawaii. It doesnt have to be the nicest place, or near the beach or anything, but just near a "city."

I have the option of moving to any city in the US to do my rotations for pharmacy school. I always wanted to visit Hawaii, and since its summer time, and I have to pay to live somewhere anyway, why not there?

The thing I need help with is finding somewhere to crash for the month. I would only need the place for 5 weeks, so signing a lease probably wouldnt work. I am not the type to destroy a house or anything like that. I am just trying to seize an opportunity and make something work.

I have 2 other guys from my class that are willing to make the trip with me and are willing to pay for a place to live for that month. I am required to work atleast 40 per week, so I doubt I would ever be home. I want to sight see and just enjoy my time over there when I am not on the clock...

Does anyone have a condo or bonus apartment we could rent? If its reasonably priced we would definitely consider it. None of us are weird or anything like that.. haha.. We would probably never be there except to sleep during the week...

If anyone knows of anything definitely let me know. It will be any 5 weeks over the next summer. From the last week in may - july 1st or july 1st to second week in august.

I figure I would post up here before i started contacting people on craigslist...

Sounds like all work and no play... Yeah right!

Anyway, I did a quick search on Honolulu Advertiser's website and found this:

There are short term rentals available. With the market as it is now, I don't think you'll have a problem finding a place. Alot of condo-tels and even hotels in Waikiki offer long-term rooms.

hmm, my ex gf is in pharmacy school and from what she has said the only pharmacy school in the State is in Hilo. What school are you taking classes from, do you know if your on the island of Oahu or the Big island?

Sounds more like a summer internship program.

In any case, I would suggest craigslist as well.

yeh... I just need to be located near a retail pharmacy like CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Target..etc.. I work for free to get experience after being in pharmacy school over a year and a half. Just something you have to do to get your license... *sigh*

None of us are in the military...

It can be on any island...I dont know much about Hawaii, but I would probably need to be in an area with about 2 or 3 pharmacies...

Thanks for the link.. I am going to check into that tomorrow.. I just got set up my internship in Alaska for july, so I will need the place in june.

We only got a few Walgreens here.

CVS just bought out Longs Drugs stores....which is pretty much where locals go for prescription drugs. You can find a Longs Drug store all over the island of Oahu...and on the neighbor islands too.

Costco and Times Supermarkets are also popular. Walmart, Kmart, and the hospitals here all have pharmacies.

Yeh, Any of those places would work. I just need to get their addresses and contact the managers and set them up with my school.

Do any of you guys personally know anyone that works at any local pharmacies?

I am part owner of a pharmacy franchise here in savannah, but we dont have any stores located in Hawaii, so I that doesnt really help me much...

I may have found a place to stay on the Big Island.. Does anyone have a cheap car I could rent from them? I have a clean driving record =) I will use anything lol..

If not, anyone know where I can get a car to use? Rent or buy?
