Yeah...like picking clams in Kaneohe Bay!
Walking down the trail to the water and using a screen mesh to sift out the sand.
Then going forward a decade or two, doing the same thing on the North Shore to look for Puka Shells and Paper Shells.

yep...first McD was the one in aina haina..and i remember ranch house really well.

Save Sandy Beach..i used to support them with contributions...and the guys that used the air filled big garbage bags, those were always cool. i remember mr santos used to be out at generals (outside sandys shorebreak when it gets big) and be riding his garbage bag.

did someone mention checkers and pogo? or the banana splits? "tra la la, tra la la la"

I remember my first skateboard had metal wheels won at a carnival.....Then came the clay wheels with Chicago trucks which we all thought had a lot of grip.... then came urethane Cadillac wheels, The Kine, Slicks and Stokers, Road Rider 4's, Excaliber Trucks and so on....Pre-Ollie days....Remember the sky hooks used to jumping the curbs...For body surfing devices were the homemade hand boards with surgical rubber straps, McDonald's Tray, Hydro Disk....Early Hawaiian boogie boards were wooden varnished plywood Pipo Boards used at Waikiki walls or Nanakuli sand surfing.....Remember Captain Honolulu getting out of his helicopter turning his hands into upside down sunglasses at the end of the Bozo The Clown hour...I remember the old cartoons like King Kong, Princess Knight, Squidly Didly, Ruff and Ready, Roger Ram Jet, Rocky and Bullwinkle.....Wow those are old memories....
