so on thursday, 12/18
i got a citation for being at a park past closing time...which i never knew there was one...
the cop that issued me the ticket/citation said it wasnt a ticket, its just a citation, so on my yellow paper, it says i have to appear to court on the 5th of january. and i dont see any fine or anything that i have to pay for.
my only question is, what do i do with this yellow paper? cuz i got a blue envelope with it...?

*this is my frist ticket/citation w.e...so i have no idea what to do

the blue envelope says i have 15 days to either
1. pay for my citation by mail or in person at the district courrt
2. appera in person to contest
3. or write a written statement.
so as of now i have 2 weeks to do one of those three...preferably pay for it in person.

goto you local district traffic court and ask them there... i guess...

If you dont want to appeal it you dont have to show up for court. on the actual ticket there is a website you can log onto and pay the fine or you can go to any courthouse and pay the fine at the cashier. If you dont show up for court and do not pay the fine by the deadline a default judgement will be ruled against you(max fine/sentence).

yea as you can tell ive gone thru this a LOT, i always parked illegally on streets by UH. Yea its ghetto style parking pass, since UH said I never had priority even as a super super senior.

Is there an amount on the citation? If not, then like Judd said, take your ticket and checkbook to district court ASAP and just take care of it.

there isnt any amount thats is written on the citation, but do i have to have a checkbook? cuz i dont have one...or a credit card...otherwise i wouldnt be asking this...
i cant just pay in cash??

I don't know for sure if they accept credit cards, but cash is fine.

Most cops would only go to the park if there was a complaint or something. Were you guys making alot of noise at the park? What time was it?

Also, most cops would tell you ppl to just leave, and dont bother citing anyone....but lucky you....this guy needed to make his ticket quota for the month of December...LOL!!!

Contest it...just tell the judge you didn't know and that it wont happen again....throw in a couple tears or watery eyes while your at it...and hope that the judge will dismiss it...LOL!!!

^^ it was just me and my gf around 115am
we always went there to talk and stuff...and cops came around and let us leave without stopping us...

idontknow if i should pay for my "committed offence" and trying to tear is really hard for me, especially if its going to be something unemotional like this haha
but i would contest it nevertheless

i know the last time i got a ticket, which was about 4 or 5 years ago for noise pollution on seaside (which was bs), i went to court to contest it. all i did was show up, and the court was trying to make deals with everyone it seemed and instead of paying 100+ for my ticket it was like 30 or 40 and so i took the deal.

oh, and plan on paying cash so you dont get all jammed up in case they dont take c/c.

no lie. guys/girls only go to the park at that time of night for 1 thing and 1 thing only. :/ i think we've done it at every park and beach on the island in my last 18 years here lol. some funny stories...lol
