thing is thou, japan didnt have a Lexus division until only a few yrs ago, thus for them to get true USDM grey market parts is points for their owners, they could put a L on a Aygo or a Wish if they wanted too and it would be cool for them... HERE we have had both T and L badges avalible for almost 2 decades now so its different for us, the L means something more than just a cool 'grey market part', ANYTHING USDM in japan is big dollars, 50k for base chevy silverado/300bucks for levi's jeans... its different for them.
I saw a green scion XB rocking the L emblem yesterday morning on the freeway heading towards town. Couldn't get a pic since the google phone's camera is a complete failure and will not take a shot unless the camera is perfectly still and not moving....
I've seen "L" badged black Toyota truck (one that's pictured in this thread) today near Ala Moana. It looked pretty nice from a far but Lexus emblem raised my eyebrow a bit.
