yah todd, some peeps got me into looking at flashlites too...
i'm itchin' to get me a surefire flashlite soon. i need a super strong one to see
thru the bushes by the river at my house when my dog starts barkin'...

630 lumens! They have it at Young Guns, but its $200 over there. Next time I see you, you can check out the lights I bought and maybe go get one at YG.

Yup, shipping is only 8.95 too. I'm actually happy with my Fenix TA30 too. Just under 8" and has the blinding STROBE feature that causes disorientation if you find anyone outside in your bushes Less than $90, but Young Guns is like $112.

I just got my Fenix TK11 r2 in the mail today. 240lumens is ridiculously bright! Walked the dogs tonight and blinded myself 
Smaller (about 5.3"), brighter, and cheaper than the TA30, still less than $100 shipped, 2cell light. This is the one that ranked the Best flashlight of 2009.
Only drawback is there's no Strobe feature, but the beam is so bright, you don't need the strobe to blind someone.

dunno how bright or strong 300lumens, the stronger the better
