i think the vehicle needs to be certified by an independent 3rd party ASE mechanic. Insurance should be the same as a clean title car.

If i remember correctly, IS-F was in the top-10 most expensive vehicles to insure rating at I think was #8. You gotta pay to drive that beast around. as to reinstating the car, I have no clue.

Its impossible to get a salvage title car and make it clear title. Unless you know someone that works in the satellite city hall and that do it illegally. Of course if the seller is selling it for 20k there's gotta be something wrong with the car.

As for insurance, i'm paying about 450 for full coverage every 6 months. I do have a clean driving record btw. So insurance ain't that bad...for me that is.

It is true that once the title is deemed salvage from the insurance agency it will stay on the title for the life of the vehicle, but there is an option to make the title "Insurance Salvaged Rebuilt Vehicle" which is what the restored title would read after being certified by a "bonded repair facility", theres one near side street inn by Ala Moana.

Prior to doing this, salvaged cars are issued "Salvage title certificates".

As far as insurance goes, i have not been able to find an insurance company willing to insure a vehicle with salvaged title for collision and comprehensive coverage. they will insure for liability only.

the reason i'm familiar is my wifes car got jacked. sucks.
