Waikiki Local Breakfast

Waikiki Local Breakfast
Aloha CL Hawaii. I'm here from SoCal with my wife and two young boys. Need a suggestion for some good local breakfast spots where there's good space to sit down and have some good local food. I'm craving some portugeese sausage and eggs with rice. As of now, we'll be heading to Zippy's unless I can get some better advice from the CL family.

BOOTS and Kimo's for the WIN! although i must warn you, once you eat those pancakes, you will never eat another ever again!
you can also check out Koa Pancake house, Da Kitchen, Original Pancake house, Bob's Big Boy. Google for locations.
and like Judd mentioned, come out to SpoCom this weekend. \m/

Where are you staying and do you have a car?
If you're in Waikiki, there' s a late-night/breakfast place open called Eggs 'n Things. I've never gone in person because it's a pain to go there during their busy hours, but many swear by it. Expect to wait in line if you try to go during breakfast hours.
Enjoy your stay.

i can never get over how many people like boots n kimos. i'll admit the pancakes are good (the sauce is good but the pancake itself is average), but damn, the rest of the food sucks. and the wait....jeez. an hour+ wait for incredibly bad service and mediocre food is ridiculous. cinnamons has better food and better service.
same for eggs and things. their food used to be good 15 yrs ago when they were in the old location in the kalakuan condo. but now, gah. another 30 min - 1 hour wait and the food is barely average. i'd rather even go to wailana than eggs and things.
i'd recommend these....not necessarily IN waikiki but not too far away.
Bogart's cafe on monserrat ave.

Cafe Kaila in market city

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I haven't been back on the boards since I posted this but I did try Big City Diner yesterday before our hike up Mariner's Ridge.
Wow, everyone's raving about this Boots and Kimo place. I Yelped it and it's hella-far!
@Cuttooth...thanks for being candid. I'm not much of a breakfast person let alone a pancake person. But my wife and kids are. But for an hour wait, I don't think I can handle that with my two young boys running around driving me bonkers.
@chrisyano, I do have a car and am staying in Waikiki off of Kuhio at the Hilton Prince. I'll definitely look up Eggs n' Things. My wife loves breakfast foods so I'm sure she'll be excited.
@masterchri...glad it worked out for you! And thanks for the tips.
@everyone...I wish I could make it to the show but it's definitely not something my wife would dig. LOL! I'm here on business every two months so I'm sure I'll have plenty of opportunities.
Thanks again and I'll need to check out as many of these spots as possible.
Oh...and of the 20+ times I've been to Oahu, I had Wailoa Shaved Ice for the first time and all I can say is WOW. The wife and I have always been Matsumoto's fans but no longer!

Wow. I need to hang out with Cuttooth so I can learn about more good places to eat.
I haven't had Matsumoto's since childhood I think. Never thought it was worth the drive/wait when Waiola's is right here in town. Gotta check out those other two.
