Default New guy here need some suspension advice? =)

Hey guys,

I decided to join this forums in hopes to get some advice on the best route to drop my car.

I recently traded in my g37 and picked up an 2010 IS250. I'm looking to drop the car 1.5-2 inches front and rear. I'm not looking to tuck since I don't want to deal with rubbing issues or having to roll my fenders. .It's nice, but just not practical for me.

I've been hearing different review on teins springs and H&R as I did a search and read a ton of review here. What do you guys recommend for a drop that will eliminate most of the wheel gap, but wont force me to roll the fenders? The IS came with the upgraded 18's.

I hope you guys can give me some personal advice from experience! =)

H&R or Tein Stech springs... rubbing has more to do with your rims offset than lowering the car and stock rims wont rub on these springs, you could even add spacers *cough*get coils*cough*

hehe this is how it all starts

Thanks guys. I've heard of road magnets, but I haven't seen or heard anyone with an IS sporting them. No too many reviews on the quality or comfort, but it does provide a nice drop.

Tanabe and Tein are our most popular brands. Have you looked into Tanabe coils? I might also have Tanabe and Tein springs in stock. PM me if you're interested in pricing or installation.

id say the hell with springs and just get the whole coilover...cost a little bit more but its so much easier to just swap out the whole thing just incase u wanna sell it later...plus coilovers and just way better

Coilovers are a good choice if you want to get your ride height *just* where you want it. Plus you get matched dampers and damping control with most.

Shoot us a PM if you want some help picking out a good setup

Haha, back when I first bought my 2IS, I was in the exact same boat as you are now. I love the slammed look like everybody else here, but just like you, it's not as practical for me anymore. Not to mention, the ride on springs is typically more comfortable than most coilovers out there. After a lot of research, I ended up getting H&R springs. I really liked the even drop that they provided and of course I saved a lot vs. going with coilovers. The ride was a little firmer than I expected, but not uncomfortable at all. The ride height even looked great with my 19's on there and pretty much closed up all of the wheel gap. A few of the members here were pretty surprised too when they saw the drop in person. In the end, it all depends on what your priorities are. If a decent drop, ride comfort, and price are important, I'd say look into the H&R's.
