97+ conversion progress
Hi, all. I've been on CL for a while but I never really had a chance to post my SC on here. And I haven't been to any meets recently. So here it goes.
Recently, my front bumper was damaged and needed a fix. Considering how I needed/(wanted) a new front bumper, I took this opportunity to upgrade the entire exterior to 97+.
Here are some before pictures (the damage) :
I've gathered parts from CL classifieds and Carson Toyota. I found most parts at a reasonable price but shipping was killer. I guess it's the price to pay to live in a paradise.
I've asked around for a good body shop and a friend of mine recommended JL Auto Body Works. So I took my SC there. Joel (owner) was really knowledgeable about SC's and his work convinced me to trust him with the repair.

Waiting period was about 2 weeks but it was worth it. Joel kept me posted on present status of my car throughout the entire process of the repair.
After a week which felt like an eternity, repair was finally completed. Here are some pictures upon picking up my car.
Adding final touch..
95 tails still on (97 tails are at home)
Finally home
Side skirts and moldings
Fogs are currently being retrofitted..
As evident from the pictures, lowering suspension is badly needed to eliminate the 4x4 stance. But for now, I'm very satisfied with the outcome of the repair as well as the quality of job done. There are no orange peel, wavy reflection, or any imperfection on the paint. Just perfection! I am really amazed at how flush Joel was able to line up hood, fender, and bumper together.
I guess I'll try to come out to CLH meets in near future. Hopefully I'll have my SC lowered by then.

Thanks!
Thanks. Some retrofitting is in the works..
Joel's business is all word of mouth. I heard so much great things about him, I just had to go.
Thanks! SC's are not as rare as it used to be in the used car market and are really coming down in price recently. Finding one that's in mint condition on the other hand, is tough.

It seems sc400's are easier to find now days. But after doing months of research, it just seems less of a headache to do the 2jz swap in a 300 than a 400. Then again the first gen gs300's would be the easiest to swap the aristo in it
