I have Megan LP on my 02Lexus IS300, and it is smooth!.. I have no problems with it whatsoever. I did alot of reseach on other coilovers and Megans by far is the best I could find for the price and realiability. Good luck on your choice fellow CL member.

Preload isn't suppose to affect ride quality unless you load the springs to the extreme on crappy springs. What you DON'T want to do is use the upper spring perch as your main method of lowering your car. There is absolutely nothing wrong with adjusting preload, but you have to be smart about it. Don't lower too much to the point where your shock piston bottoms out whenever you run over a bump. Preload is not a bad thing if used properly. If your intended purpose is to lower your car a lot, then get coils with dual height adjustment. If your main goal is performance, then dual height adjustments are insignificant so they're not always superior. Different applications calls for different solutions.
