There's a ton of restaurants in that area, there's also a couple of huge malls and movie theaters they could go to. There's the Home Depot center, not sure what's going on there right about now. Umm, let's see what else...not too sure about bars or anything like that, Torrance is a slower city in SoCal so there's not too much nightlife unfortunately. But if they like to shop and peruse then they'll find plenty to do.

Have them go out to Manhattan Beach / Hermosa Beach in the evenings ...lot's of excellent restaurants, night life, etc...Start at either pier. There is also some stuff at the RB pier...and it's only a few miles from Torrance.

Like Mike mentioned above, there is the Del Amo mall off of Hawthorne Blvd in Torrance with lots of chain restaurants around that area as well. Don't think much is going on at the Home Depot center since the X-Games finished.

Trust me though...go to MB/HB and they won't be disappointed!

Sushi, There's a Fusion Sushi on PCH. about 1 block west of Hawthorne Blvd on PCH. The price is great and the sushi is even better.

They also just opened another location in Manhatten Beach. Its on a small street between Highland/Valley and the big street is Manhatten Beach Blvd.

Torrance is mostly Residential besides the Del Amo mall.

I go through the torrance area to pick up parts for my car, not trying to talk smack but some parts are too ghetto for me.

Moving this to the SoCal forum, hopefully some of the other So.Cal members will see this.

nothing wrong with that talgrl

I agree some areas are undesireable, but other have homes that avg. $1M+ and are very desireable next to the beach (Hollywood Riviera) and close to Riviera Village (good restaurants over there too!)...and there are ALWAYS hot babes at these beaches...lol!

I don't think I would describe ANY parts of Torrance as "ghetto". The lowest-rent parts of Torrance are still, from almost any perspective, well above loads of the rest of SoCal.

Is Tomisushi on PCH still around? The Cheesecake Factory which is just over the line in Redondo is of course excellent. If your friend likes the sports bar atmosphere and to shoot pool, National Sports Grill is a lot of fun. If he doesn't mind a bit of a drive, places like Downtown Disney, The Grove, and the Spectrum are basically outdoor malls with lots of restaurants, shops, and SoCal scenery!

If he really wants nightlife, then Hollywood is probably the place to go. Downtown L.A. also has some hotspots but generally only on the weekends.
