Good Place for Dealer Service?
Has anyone compared prices/service for the LA area Lexus dealers for Oil change, 10K, 15K, 30K, etc services? Anyone have great things to say about any particular dealer's service dept? Or bad things to say? I'm near Torrance and checked prices at my local dealer vs. another dealer in LA awhile back and found that my local was significantly more expensive. Any advice out there? Thanks!

you should also check on what exactly do they do for each service. i know there is a guideline for what to do for 10k, 15k, 30k, etc.... however, that happened to someone up here (in norcal) before too, the prices for 60k and 90k are very different between two dealers. ended up the expensive 60k one, they have a cheaper 90k service coz' they perform some of the 90k service during 60k to "even" out the price so people don't get a heart attack at 90k.
now if a dealership is expensive all along, then that's a different story.
for my car in LA, i go to keyes lexus a lot. they have treated me very nicely

BOY, are you not kidding. Look at the very different list of services done and the prices that I was e-mailed after a request from only two SoCal Lexus dealers for the 60,000 mile service for a 2000 ES300:
Longo Lexus, El Monte, CA:
The 60k mile service on your 2000 ES300 involves changing most of the fluids in the car. The engine oil and filter, transmission fluid, differential oil, brake fluid, and coolant are replaced. Also we will get a measurement on the brake pads, rotate the tires, test the battery, fill all remaining fluids and inspect the car. This service is $330+tax.
......................................
Lexus of Westminster, Westminster, CA:
Here is the list of services that will be performed for the 60,000 mile service maintenance:
Change engine oil and filter
Check and correct all fluid levels
Rotate tires and set the correct pressure
Inspect exhaust, drive axle boots, steering and suspension
Inspect fan belts and hoses
Replace transmission fluid
Replace air filter
Replace PCV valve
Replace spark plugs
Computer balance wheels
Engine computer analysis
Replace windshield wiper inserts
Flush brake fluid and replace
Brake inspection and adjust parking brake
EFI fuel injector cleaner
Audible engine valve clearance inspection
Inspect exterior lighting
Road test vehicle
This service will run about $897.00 and will take about 6 hours.

WOW, it's like they threw darts at a service chart and a price wheel!!!!
