drove new IS350 today, man that's one sweet ride... wish I had the kind of money to afford one The only problem with it I had personally is kinda smallish windows on all sides... kinda reduces visibility IMHO. They try to compensate increased blindspots with oversized mirrors but they look kinda ugly Also, not much space left in the rear with a 6'+ person in front, none at all, in fact

no fair...the El Toro event is all booked! I just got my invite in the mail a couple days ago, and tried to register right away....*sigh* hopefully there'll be some cancelations...........

Don't wait for the invatations to arrive. By then, the good time slots are filled as you discovered. When I saw the info posted in car Chat...I made my reservations. My invitations for LA arrived 2 weeks later and the El Toro came the following week. That was about one month lead time...not much.

We had a nice time and the latest GS and IS are
The AWD GS3 the handling is phenomenal. They had one corner with sand at the entrance to the apex...I could only hear the tire beginning to let go and then silence as the VSC and shifting of power took over. It made the car feel very stable and controllable at what I would consider the limit of a non-AWD platform.
The IS 250...way more fun then I expected and it took to the hard driving without a problem.
I didn't try the paddle shifters...thoughts? The comparison of the IS 350 and BMW 330...the IS 350, spanked the BMW from what i saw. By far the biggest hit of this drive event as indicated by the much longer lines.
I think I converted bro-in-law by signing him up.
Well done Lexus.

One nice thing was I told the guy timing the cars that I was going to take a slow lap. He spaced the following car back enough that someone wasn't all over my backside. I did miss the competing cars liek the Benze S, Bmw 7, Jag, Caddy...having those extra cars there shortened the lines.
One gal told me that El Toro-Sat was more crowded than the previous weekend at Dodger Stadium. Might try earlier and Sunday next year.

Pole Position
Just a few pictures before and after we went into Taste of Lexus. No actual pictures from the actual event. It was cool meeting new people and getting to actually test out all the different cars.
