Default Finance rates in SoCal?

I just used Capitol One and the Costco discount and received a rate of 5.7%.

Seems a little high to me.......anyone want to chime in on the subject?

There was a thread about this very recently. A search will turn it up. Bottom line is, the prime rate is up, so you did pretty well. And since you've already got the loan, who cares at this point?

Sounds good to me. I got 5.65% thru Capital One. One note; if you're using that blank check thing make sure your dealer will accept it. I had my C1 financing all in order and THEN they tell me they won't accept that Capital One Blank Check thing. I told them that unless they could match the rate we had a problem. Lexus Financing was hovering around 6.75% for scores of 700+. I faxed them my C1 documents notating the rate, they attached the documents on my Lexus Financing application for special consideration and was approved. It's a good thing cuz I was ready to walk. Just a word to the wise. It seems from talking to my salesperson that a lot of dealerships don't accept this type of program because it's a DRAFT and not a true check that is immediately cashable, I guess.

Also, check out BankRate.com. You can search for the best car rates in the nation and get a good idea of whether or not that's the best rate that is being publicly offered. I think that rate is pretty damn good. It's almost like borrowing money for free.

Went through C1 and costco. I got 5.39 last week and the check booklet thing just arrived. I sure hope the dealer takes it. Although it's a draft it's not like they are not going to get there money in a timely fashion. I'd bet personal bank checks will take longer to get funds. You can verify balance on a check, but you can't on a draft.

I went with the 60 mo. option to keep payments low. I'll be calling the dealership tomorrow and seeing what goes down.

I checked Bankrate.........5.7 seems to be a very good rate on a 5 year term.

I got 5.30% for a 60month loan through Capital One/Costco about 3 weeks ago. I'm still waiting for my car to arrive I hope it comes soon so I don't have to worry about extending my check.

Has anyone have experience of Lexus Financing matchinb/beating the rates that you get from other lenders?

3.9 % BMW certified vehicles
5.9-6.9 % new vehicles, pretty much most auto lenders. 5.9 obviously for 700+ fiscal.
