Default Honest Repair Shops in SoCal? Recommendations?

Hi all,
I was wondering who you all go to for service and maintenance besides the dealerships. Has anyone hear of Pro Auto (lexus and toyota specialists) in whittier? If so how was your experience with them? Any recommendations? I have a 92 LS 400 and the dealerships charge half what the car is worth. Thanks!!!!

Default Don't all jump in at once. haha

Thanks for the PM's but I am not looking to modify. Just maintenance. My car is all original and in great shape. I just want to keep it that way.

My mechanic is in cerittos. Don't know if that's too far for you or what not. He has worked on every car in the family for over 10 years. He knows his stuff..

If he's willing to drive up to Carson, TM Engineering can get all of that done for him.

I've been taking my car to Dynamic Auto Services in Midway City for almost a year. I was referred to them by a fellow CL member, VeilsideGS3.

Ted is one of the owners and he is a Lexus Certified Master Technician, formerly of Longo Lexus. The other technician is a Son and I believe he is also a Certified Master Technician. They are great guys and excellent technicians. The other thing is that I never worry about them damaging my car or my 20s. They are careful in addition to being extremely competent. They are at 714.899.2939.

AutoCouture,
Can you please share your mechanic's name/phone number? I'm close to Cerritos and I might be able to use him one of these days. Thanks.

My family and I have been using Car Aid for well over 10 years. Very honest, competant, and reasonably priced. We've set up discounts for Supraforums Members and could probalby do the same for CL Members.

I have and continue to trust both shops with any of my Supras and Lexi. (sp?)

And I've done some business with Todd at TME and always had good experiences.

Another vote for TM Engineering and/or Dynamic Auto Services.

Todd at TM is fantastic- just be a little patient because he is a one-man band. I know he has lots of projects going on up there... in fact, he's so busy I don't even bother him with small jobs.

For a quicker turnaround, Ted at Dynamic is the guy. Ted is a Lexus genius, and as honest as they come. He's done work on my GS4, the "loaner Accord" I'm driving (while the GS is getting painted), my friend's Mini Cooper S, etc. Ted's specialty really is the Lexus cars; since he is a certified master Tech., he has the experience and the knowledge to work on these cars. Also, he is a car-nut... the guy drives an NSX!

Neither of these guys is the typical 'grease monkey' mechanic who works on everything from '81 Chevy Citations to Forklifts. I will only leave my car with somebody who is very familiar with the exact car I have. Both are great shops.

Hi, how much does Ted@Dynamic charge for a complete paint job? I wanted to repaint my entire car because of rock chips and dings. Know roughly how much he might charge? its for a GS430. thanks.

I believe Ted/Dynamic is a "mechanic" type shop and not a body shop.
