Heck even the hotel manager knows my wife (INDGOGRL) on a first name basis. We do a lot of business with them, so it makes sense to leverage our discount rates for our EOS visitors.
Historically the meets I hold tend to be within 10 - 20 min. of my house , including all the EOS meets.
Being the meet organizer has it's priviledges.

Last year it was the Friday we arrived. Previous years it's been the Saturday night before the meet. I can never forget that first SoCal/NorCal so called mini meet dinner back in 2003. That was when I first got my 2004 fresh from Longo the day before and surprised all of you guys that night haha. That mini meet turned out to be 21 cars deep for some reason...and it was all LAST MINUTE! 
For anyone that would like to know... I was the guy in a black solara...
not sure if anyone remembers me though.
