Default Fav computer stores in OC?

Where are some of your favorite pooter stores in OC? (Anaheim to Costa Mesa preferably.)

I haven't been in Micro Center for a spell but I thought it was pretty good selection wise. Some prices were competitive too. PC Buzz has treated me well over the years and they built up my last system.

Fry's, although its a mad house everytime you go there and looking for non-returned items is a hassle, the prices are good, selection is there, and if you screw up on something, they'll take it back

I've had good and bad experiences with Fry's. For some reason, a lot of purchases have to get returned, whether or not they were repackaged or not. Are their prices really that much better over NewEgg? Whenever I go to Frys, i tend to only see lots of low end equipment like ECS mobos

I go to newegg as well. They charge tax, but they're still cheaper than Fry's. If i can't wait for items, i go to Fry's.

NewEgg owns all. I once ordered something in the mid afternoon and it was delivered at the next day via UPS.

I'll have to check Newegg.

With Fry's, many years back, I bought a monitor. Box was perfect but when I got home, the case and been cracked...back it went only the store didn't have anymore. Had to go to another...that monitor was in great condition, but on plugging in DOA. The third has been a charm but the frustration.
Generally, I go there only if I'm passing by or I am desperate.

One of the fans in my old system is getting louder so I wnat to find a quieter one.

newegg rocks crazily

they might still have it, but they had a special several months ago on Masscool case fans for less than 99 cents each for 10 qty. They aren't the quietest, but they have a very high cfm rating.

If you're in SoCal and you order before 3pm, usually you'll get your part the next day. I have yet to get a DOA or damaged item from them, so it's definitely worth the extra cost of shipping for peace of mind.

(we should have a seperate computers and electronics section on CL, i think there are a lot of tech/gadget geeks on this board, myself included)
