I live in Pomona but does anyone know a quality shop here in So Cal which can find and rebuild the transmission for a '93 SC400? so far I have only found estimates in the 1400-1800 dollar range.

 

try diamond bar transmissions.

 

not too familiar with the prices, but isn't that pretty cheap? it cost me almost 2k for a rebuild on my ford bronco tranny.

or drop in a 5 speed

Not only they can re-build, they got few low mile trannies laying around in their shop !! Call and check it out !!

I think its easier to just drop in another transmission. Ask for it in the classifieds, or PM aliga.

if this is the same Sparks that used to be in Rowland Heights on Colima, I would STRONGLY suggest against them...

 

Seen several of these sell over on the auction site for well under 500.00 in supposed good condition. Try also Craigslist, Recycler,etc....
