SOCAL Shops - Highly recommended!
I just want to give credit to where credit is due. Thanks to the people who post in this forum, I discovered three places to take my car to besides the dealership.
1. Steve and his group at Luxury Motorworks in Monrovia for doing the 90,000 miles service including the timing belt, water pump, idler, tensioner, seals, etc. replaced spark plugs, plus both front and rear brake service (re-faced rotors, new pads, painted calipers) for under $ 2K with an LS loaner. Even got a call from them today inquiring on how the car is performing.
2. Todd @ TM Engineering in Carson for doing an excellent job on my Tein CS/Daizen upgrade (actually my first choice to do the service but had difficulty tracking him down).
3. Darin @ West End Alignment in Gardena for doing my four-wheel alignment - over 18,000 miles on my lowered (2 fingers-front, 1 finger rear)/stagerred set-up, and no signs of uneven wear on the tires.

Isn't giving a mechanic props a recommendation? In any case, it's good to know of shops that
do quality work.
I've taken my SC400 several times to Luxury Motorworks. Very professional crew that works there.
I feel very confident leaving my car there to get serviced. So far I've had my timing belt, water pump, shocks, LCA, 30K, 60K services, power steering pump replaces, and a a few more things on this
list I forgot. I still have a few more things for them to fix on my 14 year old car.
Todd hooked me up with some new steering rack bushings. He did a good job while I waited.
I'll have to give Dynamic Auto a call. They're a lot closer to me than Luxury Motorworks. Do you they
offer a loaner car?

They did my LS and CL55. And I just dropped off my new project car...2006 Honda Odyssey...hahaha...

update, my car, irv's car, a friend's low IS, and another fairly low aristo made it out okay on saturday. there isn't that much clearance getting out, since the driveway is somewhat narrow, but the slope isn't that steep. the back entrance/exit is okay. since i don't know how low your car is now, i can't gauge it accurately...i know ted has the proper equipment to work on lower cars though, since irv's can't make it onto the standard equipment like mine can.
sorry i can't help you more, brian!

I use RPD Automotive in Huntington Beach off Beach and Warner. Ask for Paul. He is a Senoir Master Mechanic from Lexus of Westminster. I used to go to him when he as there and now I go to his own shop now. He tells you what you need and cost about half the price of the dealership..
