Default Good restaurant(s) in Anaheim area...?

What are some good restaurants in that area? My gf and friends are going down there for Labor Day and were looking for some. We're going to be near Disneyland, not by choice...lol Anyway, reccomendations would be appreciated. Nothin in that down town Disney area and I dont want to hear about stuff like Black Angus or Outback...lol Type of foods ideally would be American (steak/chop houses) or Italian, but not limited to.

In Orange Circle, about 5 miles from Disneyland, there is a Cuban restaurant called Felix Continental Cafe.

Awesome food, and everything is less than $12!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Check them out at their website: Felix Continental

Try searching www.chowhound.com. You'll find plenty of reviews there.

If you don't mind driving up the 57 to Brea, Lucille's has really good ribs.

By excluding Downtown Disney, you're needlessly cutting out a half-dozen great restaurant choices. And the Napa Rose restaurant in Disney's Grand Californian hotel is one of the best restaurants in the entire OC.

If you don't mind driving 20 minutes, and want a phenominal dinner for ~$75-100 a person otd.

Go here:

Last time we stayed in the area we went to a few of those restaurants that is why I excluded that downtown Disney area. Plus, its nice to get around other areas of So. Cal rather than being secluded in that area for 4 days. With that said, the Napa Rose restaurant you mentioned is something to keep in mind. Ive been looking for information about it and have seen that it seems to be highly recommended. I just wish there were a menu on their site...

Mastro's Steak House seems like a good possibility though.

That's definitely a very good restaraunt, with a very decent steak, and a pretty large menu. Nice atmosphere and patio seating.

Try using Citysearh. They have editor and user reviews and their reviews are usually fairly accurate...

I didn't think Napa Rose was anything special. Perhaps it was because my expectations were set so high. (Being rated the "Best Restaurant in OC" and all.) I had the snapper and it was good, but nothing to write home about. If I find myself there again, I will probably try the pre-fixe dinner.

I've been to many of the "better restaurants" in OC (including all of the big name steak houses) and I think Mastro's is one of the best places to eat period.

Also, if you're in town on Saturday morning (and don't mind getting up early) go down to Crystal Cove between 7 and 9am (most cars will leave at 9) and check out several hundred cars, any type you can imagine.

I 2nd Lucille's BBQ. Went there for the 1st time last month. Savory BBQ that falls off the bone and cooked in a smoker. Man that place is good! But be prepared to eat as they give good amounts of food. There should be several locations in the OC, but I've been to the one in Brea also.
