Our parking spot nearly burned down today. RMMGS4 called me this afternoon and told me the news. It's headline news in the Bay Area tonight. He was there at the scene today during his lunch break. He said he's okay but covered in soot from the smoke/ashes....

Thanks for posting Ryan. I took a bunch of pics since I was at the fire before the Fire Trucks even got there. My car was completely covered in ash even though, I was parked far away. They closed the main road (Montague Expressway) since the ashes were raining down everywhere and fears of other buildings catching fire was there. Luckily no wind today or it would of caught the adjoining structure on fire. It appears no one was hurt.

I called Rominl as well , cause he lives around the bend and traffic will be a mess when he gets home from work tonight.

The parking garage next to the fire has been a hang out for locals for some time now. You can see the top floor in the aerial view above. It's also where I do most of my photo shoots.

Several mini-meets in the past , plus the Hotel is where we accomodate our out-of-town members for the yearly EOS meet (as show in the pics above).

Well that one section of those condos will need to be rebuilt, but most of it should be done and occupied in time for EOS 6.

Looks like I got to have an interesting lunch break today, especially since work is totally dead right now.

Oh man, it seems like we were just there yesterday! Sad to hear it's been damaged. I hope no one's car was on that top floor when the fire happened - I'm not quite sure if that's a car I see in the corner of the lot in that pic above.

i went by there tonight at around 8, all traffic were normal already but of course the site was still locked down

the whole building was gone, only frames left.... no more ashes and smell of smoke though.

saw some pics online, scary big fire...

That parking lot is special and my fav. Especially the walking distance to the grocery store and food courts.
