Thumbs up Griffith Observatory reopens Nov 3!!

So I noticed after being dark for 4 long years the Griffith Observatory has been lit up at night.

They're finally reopening this weekend and it looks awesome! Leonard Nemoy donated 1 million and got auditorium named after him. Pretty cool of him to do that.

It's up in the Hollywood Hills by the Greek theater and close to the LA zoo/Griffith Park. I think they spend like 94 million to remodel?

$8 shuttle fare, unless you want to hike.

I can't wait to go back up there...the view is beautiful. And I hope the planetarium show is improved too.

If I remember correctly, I used to drive up to the turnaround right in front. There was a statue or some sculpture in the middle of the turn-around. Would been nice photo-op...

Wow, finally they are opened again. It was always one of my most favorite places in LA. I used to take my dates there for "romantic" nights he-he. Funny, at the day they were closing I was still single and dating, and now I'm married with two kids. So, now it's time to take my children there. Do they still have that parking lot in front of the Observatory, or you just have to take shuttle now?

Parking is very limited so you need to make a parking reservation. I’m so glad it’s reopening. Hey remember that wonder years episode??...
