One thing the CHP courts do have going for them is efficiency. They probably process 2-300 cases per judge per day.

BTW Lake Forest doesnt have a police department. They contract out to the sheriffs. There are usually at least two moto-bikes on the Lake Forest overpass. If I were you I would invest on a decent radar unit. I love my Passport 8500 and perfer it over the Valentine 1. I personally do not speed but its nice to know where the cops are.

On new years I was driving home around 11pm on the 57 before katella going towards the 5 and my unit goes off like crazy. I was going 65 in the slow lane so I figured w/e. Then two cars go zooming past me, cutting me off to pass slower traffic. Then I see a White Camero CHP zoom past me and get one of the dudes. He must have been going 90. I was amazed at how well it worked though.

Congrats. I live in South OC and didn't see this post until now. In my experience with MANY, MANY tickets in the area is that the police will write you up for mostly anything but the judges here will cut you a break in the fine if you just plead guilty. The judges are pretty laid back for the most part.

FWIW, I have received a ticket for going 72 and 75 mph on the freeway. ><

im 16, and have been driving for a few months and have been speeding like a real dumb****. my friend the same age has a 3000gt, and just got caught doing 134 in a 65. (I-85 in charlotte) now, his license is gone till hes 18, has a bunch of community service and needless to say hes grounded for a good two years.

but then i realize, that could have just as easily been me. ive done that before and have just gotten lucky no cops have been around. i like havin my license so what ive decided on doing is just get a good system so i have something good to listen to, something to do so i dont get bored and nail the gas. ive also figured out how to use the cruise control

oh, and did i mention the dropped a 30 ton iron block right on the top of his 94 3000gt vr4 bright red. the car is now 10 inches tall...another speed deterent

yeah. that courtroom was like a circus. peoples phone were going off left and right. people walking in and making noise, moving chairs around and talking. there was no order at all. it was kinda funny. the bailiff was also an old woman by the way, maybe that had something to do with it. 90% of the people in there were, no offense, but were mexicans that had no insurance or liscence and were caught speeding. and they all got off with $200 fines. they didnt even dress up! they were in there with there dirt covered pants and hooded sweaters. so much for apperance. i went all out. got the nice slacks, italian shoes, nice tie, shaved, haircut, nice dress shirt abd belt. i was like in another class compared to these people. but it seemed like i did all that for nothing. oh well. either i just have class or the other people could just care less. haha.


another thing that pissed me off was ther guy after me had a speeding ticket for going 98. he got a $398 fine and got the traffic school option. wtf, thats like that same as me. so that 3 mile difference i had does matter. dont get caught over 100!

Well what were you doing it in because i was with my cousin in the car when he was doing 92mph in a 55 zone and the cop let him go (damn BMW drivers!) All he said was i'm very sorry officer im a F***ing idiot i wasn't thinking an stuff like that.... so was in 100+ in a 35, 65? where...

it was in a 65 zone. i couldnt imagine doing 103 in a 35 zone. thats just not practical. hahaha. yeah. it was over off the 5. where the 405 S and 5 S meet. scared me ****less. i was more worried about the car being towed than anything. i could have ran but that would have been stupid and pointless. he turned his lights on 2 miles back so i couldnt make my turn. i pulled over 5 feet before the turn. whack!

I think if you wanted to you could of talked the Judge into letting you go to traffic school. At least I would of tried because I wouldnt want my insurance to go up.
