Default Pricing Research Help needed for LUX or Sport w NAV/ML. Socal members only please.

Hey all.

So I received word that my special order for my 07 IS350 with sports package, NAV/ML, spoiler, and preferred pack (i guess they make u get this?) is coming in the beginning of March. Woohoo. I will most likely be going in to negotiate the price this weekend or next so I just need to do a quick survey from all of you so cal members on what you guys paid. I've done a lot of research here and printed out alot of posts as ammo when I go negotiate. However I just wanted a single thread I could print out as well.

So please guys, help me negotiate a good price for this beauty of a car. I only really need input from southern california members who have an 06 or 07 (preferrably 07) IS350 with either Sport package or Lux package and NAV/ML

If possible just post the following info.

MSRP :
Discount:
Any Trade in? :
OTD Price (including TTL) :
Dealership:

I really just want to go in , lay down all this research so he wont bull**** me, and give him a price i want. Quick and easy.

I would really appreciate this and hope to be joining the CL family soon.

Thanks for your time.

Wait a minute. How did you special order a car and not come to terms with the dealer on what the final cost is? I've never heard of special ordering a vehicle and then negotiating the price once it arrives. What am I missing?

That's what I thought as well but he said he couldn't give me a price then and there because the cost of the car might change or something 4 months down the line. So we'll be negotiating once the car comes. Really, I'm not too concerned since well, I can really take or leave the car. If they dont give me a price that I want or comparable to what other people in Socal paid then I'll jsut walk. No biggie to me. My current car still drives great and I'll jsut get an 08 if I feel like i want it. I'm under no obligation at all. So you're not really missing anything. That's just what happened. It;s not like these four months have been excruciating or anything.. Just whatevers. :P

The rule of thumb is to get OTD for less than Msrp.
TT&L in SoCal runs apprx 9.5%, so take about 10% off the sticker price and start negotiating from there. I doubt you'll get a IS350 w/Sport & Nav/ML for invoice, since that is a high demand model. If you can get the price around 1,000-1,500 over invoice, pull the trigger . . . Good luck !

I doubt printing out a bunch of deals from other CL members will help you a lot with this. Your attitude will be your biggest ally. If you genuinely can take it or leave it, then find out what invoice is, ASK to pay invoice, and negotiate from there to an acceptable price or no deal.

I agree, if you can get this particular car for $1500 over invoice you are doing VERY well. I paid $1616 over invoice for a 350 lux with nav, ML, and the PIO accessories group. MSRP was $44,429, actual sale price was $40,200.

Even though my deal fell through, i had already negoatiated invoice plus 1K on any IS350 that dealer had in stock, or through dealer trade. that means the discount would be around 4K off msrp. 1K-1.5K is a good price to pay over invoice if you can get them to do it.

hey wushuboy you better make the deal b4 the car gets to the dealership. Once the car reaches the dealership, IMO you will have less leverage in terms of making a good deal. when i was getting my credit check run and paperwork started on my is350 deal, another salesperson tried to take the car from my salesperson, and the car wasnt even a special order car.

$1500 over invoice is an excellent deal. I know that our sales department is really serious about being number one, yet I don't know that they are doing that on the IS3s. They are just too hot.

Call Peter Kong at our dealership. He is the Chinese Fleet Manager and there is no back and forth. He will flat-out give you the best deal that he is allowed to authorize. I don't have his cell handy, but the dealership number is 818-507-1300 and you can just ask for him. If it is more than other dealerships, so be it.

Regardless of where you get it, you will love it. The IS3 is a blast.

wushu - couple of things, ask anyone that's tried to get one in the past 6 months, and I'm talking SoCal market only here, and Lux is a RARE car. The Sport might as well be an EXOTIC car because there are almost none. Unfortunately, EVERY dealer in SoCal knows this so they're going to sit tight on working from MSRP as opposed to invoice. I think in this market, getting quoted for $1000 to $1500 is one thing, but a quote means nothing once you're actually sitting there. Realistically, if you walk out of there with $1500 over invoice, you can walk out of there feeling like you got it for under invoice. IS250s right now are sometimes going for $500 UNDER invoice, so the supply and demand rule works there too.

Second, is DEFINITELY "order" it from more than one dealer. I put down $500-$1000 at 4 dealers - and that gave me what little leverage I could have walking into the dealership. Funny thing is, 3 of the 4 called me the same week saying the car was mine if I wanted it - I had a choice between SGM, Starfire, and Tungsten, all Lux+Nav+ML with Black interior...my #1 was Tungsten so I opted for that. Longo had the Tungsten so that's the one I bought - AND I got a great deal because I was wiling to walk away. Without two more IS350s waiting for me, I would defnitely not have walked away under any circumstances, and would have paid more like $1000 under MSRP, which is more like $4500 over invoice. I don't like to disclose certain specifics, but I did pay closer to invoice than MSRP, which is more like a moral victory in the end.

Hope this helps and good luck - oh, and take some Pepto Bismol because these negotiations are going to be tough
