The next day after the fire, there was a thin coat of ashes on my car and on the driveway.
When I drove up today to Los Feliz blvd, I noticed part of the hill is barren and part lush. Part of the hill was untouched and the other part is charred black and gray. You can see the black-grayish and badly charred hill side.

I had a medical visit in Pasadena today and the 101 and 5 were horrible drives. With most the Griffith Park exits closed, traffic backed up having to channel to alternate exits. This had impact as far south as the 5 in Norwalk.
The smoke wasn't as bad but still pretty obvious. I just don't understand the mentality behind those who want to cause destruction like this.

LA Fire Fighters did a great job! They saved the observatory, the zoo, Greek theater, plus hundreds of home along los feliz area. On the downside, the hillside is damaged, but it can be fixed.

Here's a couple of shots I took that night - sorry for the delay, I haven't had access to a computer to upload them until today...
I obviously wasn't the only one out taking pictures that night...
This one is my favorite - it's an awe-inspiring sight, but very depressing at the same time. Kinda like staring into hell...

We went to the Griffith Observatory today and could see all the damage the fire caused. The fire got REALLY close to the Observatory in several places. It also got very close to the Greek theater. In some areas you could probably throw a baseball from charred ruins and hit one of the landmark bulidings. I'm sure Javi will post his pictures soon so you guys can see. Too bad it was super smoggy today though.
