Default Paint?

Im getting ready to respray // repaint my car~ haven't decided.

So, to those who know about paint (cuzz i sure dont).

Whats a good price on a respray?
Whats a good price on a diff color paint job? (including or excluding engine bay)
Can you respray to a lighter color and get the same quality? (ie, i have a 93 blue green (silverspruce?) color... and i really like the lighter blue of the [95's? also seen it on s2000's and lexus SUV's etc...]
How about darker colors? ie, if i just wanted to go black.

Some1, Any1 TEACH ME =)

Thanks in advance.

PS. If you did this already feel free to link, and/or drop the name of the shop you went to if you were beyond satisfied w/ their work for the price.

Expect to pay 2500-3500 for a good respray.

Whats a good price on a diff color paint job? If you are talking about like paint with gold flakes or chameleon paint jobs, it's going to cost about 500-1000 more on top of the basic colors.

Engine bay and door jams will cost extra depending on the shop that gives you a quote.

Can you respray to a lighter color and get the same quality? You can respray to any color as the shop will sand down your car to the primer.

How about darker colors?

yes you can do that, I wanted a darker black so I resprayed from stock black onyz to bentley beluga black.

It all depends on how crazy you want to go, how much of the prep (disassembly/reassembly) you want to do yourself, and the cost of the paint materials. I used top-of-the-line PPG Vibrance, and I spent over $1600 on the paint materials alone.
