Question Romantic bistro's or restaurants in socal?

Hey guys, I wanna take my gf to a nicer restaurant or bistro, cause I have had just about enough of Olive garden and CPK. Anybody know of any nice restaurant or possibly a bistro with nice outdoor seating and or dim lighting inside with good food? something romantic? Anything in SoCal will do around the LA area and O.C (I'm close to Downtown). I just wanna try new places. Thanks for the input guys!!

Maybe also something with a nice view aside a beach or mountain is a plus!

R23 japanese restaurant is pretty nice, but kinda pricey. About 70-80 bucks per couple, so make sure your gonna get some.

I believe it's on 2nd between san pedro and alameda.

what's your budget? that's important

we've been to orange hill restaurant based on recommendation. very nice choice

mr stox was where my wife brought me last year, it doesn't have the "dim" environment but still pretty nice

of course, these are higher end restaurants

Ruth's Chris Steakhouse is pretty good. Its formal dining so its practically mandatory that you wear nice clothes. The environment isn't too bad since kids don't go there a lot since it does get expensive.

it's formal?! i doubt that. last few times i went there i have always been wearing jeans and sneakers. of course don't expect shorts and slippers, but i would definitely not say it's formal

+1 on "the penthouse" - santa monica

mckennas by the bay

lawrys in bev hills

nics vodka bar (great food) nicsbeverlyhills.com

lighthouse in long beach looking across from the queen mary

if using any of the above places in return you better get, a full body massage with a happy ending throw her a spiderman after and still get a bikini wash to your car.

If heading down into OC Newport area, I recco this place:

Tradition by Pascal:

There are plenty of other higher $$ places, for the cost, this is a great place. Reservations recommended on weekends.

wow a lot of input!! Thanks guys!! I greatly appreciate all the help.

I looked up a few places today and found "Geoffreys" in Malibu on PCH. It has outdoor candle light seating with a very nice view of the curvy pacific coastline. I think I'm gonna give that a try.

Anyone been to Geoffreys before?

www.yelp.com is a good site to get reviews of places.
