Default Where do you guys go for camping?

hello everyone~
I'm just trying to go camping with my girlfriend but have no idea where to go..
it will be our first time camping so I don't wanna take her to a crappy camping site..
so please let me know if you know a place where we can just
hang out,,,do a bonfire,,,etc..
it will be nice if it's by the lake or beach so that we can ride a jet-ski~!

I'm in Los Angeles area, by beverly hills, and I'm willing do drive at least
100 miles..and I think we'll be goind during weekdays so I'm not really worry about reserving the camping site..

thanks for your time and thanks for your advise!

u should take her to go real camping... where u carry around a 6 inch shovel when nature rings hahah. not sure if you meant campfire, but if u wanna do a bonfire, the only places i know of is at the beach. but the beach closes at 10 n they kick u out. not sure if that's the case with dockweiler? for lake camping, there's lake perris, big bear, castaic, pyramid lake, arrowhead, elsinore... those are the ones off the top of my head. not sure if there are any camp sites to pitch a tent at big bear or arrowhead tho... they're more of a cabin camping place hahah.

there's also sequoia national park which is up near visalia... not sure if that's too far for u. but u'll probably get the most camping/nature experience there.

Lake perris is great for jet skies. but i dont think u can do a bomb fire. U can also camp.for camping Azusa is great. because u can camp next to the river. is fun.

My girl and I went camping at Big Bear 2 months ago. I think the campsite was called Holcomb Valley. It was ok, camping up in Nor Cal is better. And yes I did have a camp fire there. They have metal rings specifically designed for camp fires.

I would NEVER camp without a camp fire. Having a fire and cooking your own food over it is the best part.
