I'm taking a large group of work colleagues (peers) out for a business dinner later in this month. My two leading contenders are:
1) Asia de Cuba
2) Yamashiro
Anyone have any opinion on those two restaurants or alternatives? This group of people are from around the country, so I want to give them a very "L.A." experience.

Thanks guys for the suggestions... the place should be upscale, I am looking to enjoy a good meal... so something like Pink's or Tommy's I think is a little too casual.
Geographically I am trying to keep around the Hollywood area since that's where the office is, and we'll be going straight from work - and I don't want to drag people all over the city like to Getty or down to LB for the Sky Room.

I'm not sure how LA this is, but the restaurant OPAH, is very very good. the average plate is about 20 dollars, but an upbeat fancy restaurant. It is very popular in Orange County.

If I had to choose it would be Asia de Cuba, Yamashiro food sucks.
For upscale dining you can also look into:
Lucques - French

Table 8 - Californian

Hatfield's - Californian

Il Sole - Italian

Koi - Japanese

Hokusai - Japanese

Mastro's - Steakhouse

Except for Mastro's (Beverly Hills), all are in Hollywood/West Hollywood area between Yamashiro (Magic Castle) and Asia de Cuba (Mondrian Hotel). While both locations have great city views, I'm all about the food.

Again, thanks all for the recommendations and keep them coming... I've been talking to the Asia de Cuba events manager... dinner for 20 is gonna cost $3K+!! There goes my T&L budget!
