Default Accident / Bodyshop Q

Hey guys,

If I got into an accident and am getting insurance to pay for it, do you guys know a shop that will help me replace my front bumper with a 2007 bumper instead of a 2006 bumper while fixing the damage? (yes the bumper is damaged, no i don't want the damaged bumper to be fixed because that might lead to peeling and other problems later)

my Insurance is AAA, they are telling me to take it to a "preferred shop" like marco's auto body (I know they do good work), but I am not sure Marco's will do that for me. I think they might just say too bad im replacing it with a 06 bumper.

answered in your other thread already, but yes you can get a check. just make sure it's enough to cover everything. if the final cost is not enough and you need to go over with adjuster again, it could be painful

I guess you can ask if they can use that $ for the 06 and buy a 07. If not enuf you'll add more. And if they decides to be d*cks about it you tell them screw you I'm gonna get it done elsewhere?

it's not about body shop, it's about the insurance company/adjuster

Yup. Whether a "preferred" body shop, the dealer, or some mom and pops shop in downtown, they are going to charge what it costs them, no more, no less. Its all about what the AAA adjuster will give you. You can either come out ahead, break even, or lose. It all depends on what the adjuster is going to give you, and where you take it.

Ignore the preferred body shop line. The only preference that matters is yours.
