Santiago Canyon Fire (Update) -- 56k warning
Took some pics of the aftermath of Foothill Ranch...had to wear a SARS mask cuz it was soo ashy...let me know if you can't see the pics

Literally like 5 miles from my house right now. My girlfriend, who lives in Foothill Ranch, her family and my friends there are on high alert. Some had to evac immediately but some are voluntary. I'm safe unless the wind comes towards Rancho Santa Margarita. If they do then I'm out too...hopefully its not the case...
Friend took some pics from his house. The fire is 3/4 miles from his house as of 10 minutes ago...

As of 2 mins ago, Foothill Ranch Elementary was shown with fires behind it...winds recently picked up again too...
GF is meeting with the R/A right now to discuss wuts gonna happen since UCSD is down as well. Unsure if they're evacuating or not though...

Its in Widing ranch, they closed off Portola. I know a few of my moron friends going to look. It is really smokey here. I wanted to take pictures, but I would just get in the way of the firefighters.

I'm by the Northwood area in Irvine and it's an area that's being watched right now because of the Portola fire. The air outside is unbearable. All of my windows are closed with the AC on full blast but it still smells pretty bad. 
To the OP, I hope your friends are safe and their houses don't become a victim of this fire.
The sad thing about this fire in Irvine is that it was arson.

I am about 1/2 mile from there just on the other side of the wilderness park. Unfortunately all I have around me are brush filled hillsides and packed in homes.
I am taking the animals and splitting for the night since I dont feel like laying awake all night wondering.
If your near the fires, stay alert and if you can, just leave so you dont get caught in the congestion, it has taken me 15 minutes to go about 1.5 miles all 3 times up the hill today.

More of an update...another one of my friends street is on fire
Way too many friends in Foothill...I was gonna live there when I was little too...

All of my friends in Foothill Ranch, along with the ones in Portola are out safely. GFs family is ok. Hopefully everyone else makes it out alright. Might have more pics later tonight since my friend is taking pics before he evacs...
