Donation to SoCal's Fire Victim ?
#2
I know that Quailcom stadium was/is taking donations. There are a lot of people at that location who would probably appreciate clothing.
The Red Cross was saying that they weren't taking donations @ El Toro and El Modena. They wanted monetary donations instead. I wonder if the salvation army is helping out at any of the evacuation centers.

Donation of Goods (thru Red Cross) – The American Red Cross does not have the capacity to accept or collect, and does not actively solicit individual in-kind donations (such as clothes, shoes, toys, etc) in times of disaster. Direct financial donations to the Red Cross are the best way to assist victims of disaster. (See below for Donation of Goods options with other agencies.)
Donation of Goods (as of 10-25-07):
Goodwill (check your phone book for your nearest location.) When your donation is designated for fire victims, Goodwill issues vouchers to Red Cross. These vouchers are then distributed through Red Cross disaster service centers to individuals affected by the fires.

Loves Snickerdoodles!
I wouldn't reccommend going to Qualcomm. They actually have a surplus of supplies. Plus, most of the evacuees from ther have went home. There are only about 500-1000 people currently left there. Not sure what they're going to do with all the extra suppiles. But the lady who they interviewed (one of the volunteers) speculated that they might go to some of the other evacuation centers across the county.
