Hey guys,

I got a gang of pm's with questions and suggestions.




The restaurant's banquet room is at CAPACITY. The banquet room is seperate from the regular dining room. I need everyone to be in the banquet room all together so NO, we can't "fan" out throughout the restaurant.
The raffle will be ongoing DURING lunch so I need everyone in the same room.

No, I will NOT call out raffle ticket numbers into a Mr. Microphone that booms throughout the restaurant. This will disturb other restaurant patrons.

Also, the parking lot is private property and Marie Callender's management is GRACIOUSLY allowing us to use their parking area for FOUR HOURS. There are several other businesses within this parking lot so in order to be courteous, I have "mapped" out and counted the parking spaces.

**I ask you to be courteous by NOT creating another "seperate" meet in the same parking lot. PLEASE SHOW RESPECT for fellow CL members and Marie Callender's**

No, I will NOT hold raffle outside in the parking lot after lunch.

No, I will NOT change the venue location.

Marie Callender's was my FOURTH choice. My first choice only had room for 45 people, my second choice was already booked that day by another large party, third choice had great patio area for large party but was "uncovered" and I couldn't take a chance on rain.

I started planning this meet OVER a month ago and from my experience with large EOS and AeroTect meets - there are things which work and things that don't.

This location is centrally located, the food is decent and moderately priced with a variety, the parking lot is mod friendly, the parking lot is private property, they can hold a large group of people, the area is "wide open", no potholes like in Los Angeles, police are fairly easy going, we will be indoors in case it rains, avoid holiday shoppers, etc etc etc etc.....

Thank you for your suggestions and pm's, I apologize if this post comes across as a bit "testy' but I'm just trying to be direct and to the point with the facts - it doesn't help that I am now COMPLETELY stressed out because of this.
I only wanted to put together a great meet and for people to have fun. I also wanted to have some fun and give out some cool prizes.



I sincerely apologize to those who didn't make the cutoff. Some people might drop off the list so please keep checking back and if you see an open spot, I suggest you grab it ASAP.

This will be the biggest SoCal CL meet this year for 2007.

There is the largest west coast meet up in NorCal, EOS (End of Summer Meet), in September.
Also there is the largest east coast meet which moves up and down the east coast in different states each year.

I'm going to make the holiday meet an annual thing, but in NO way am I competing with either of the two other meets - we are all a CL family and should have respect for each other.

**The guest of honor at this holiday meet is Lightwave76 (Chris), our CL brother AND committee member from EOS 6.**

This would of been my first real meet with CL members.

because i use to goto the JDM meets. mostly the one over at Cerritos. @ 99 ranch.

Liz, just a suggestion, can we perhaps have a list of contingents so that if a spot opens up, whoever's next in line can be put in that spot? I'm not suggesting this because I happen to be the 51st person that signed up but it doesn't make sense to me that there were members that signed up after the cut off and yet out of the blue, someone who just happen to drop by this thread can put themselves in an open spot.

Just a suggestion...I don't know if this makes sense to everyone?

I have to pm ALL 49 people on the list about one week prior to the meet to see if they are indeed coming. I'm really not looking forward to doing that, as you know it's a lot of work and if there is a secondary list it will:

1. Get more confusing and.....
2. I will have to go down a second list to reconfirm even more people.


I'm sorry, but for now it's going to stay on a first come, first serve basis.

I suggest you keep checking back to see if anyone dropped off the list.

Can't "out of lucK' members simply show up and chill (Outside parking lot) or something ??

OK.... I TOTALLY understand Liz's point view and compromising part, BUT I just feel akward to say NOT to come simply b/c they didn't sign up ! I KNOW I KNOW.. that we only could fit 50 or so people. But what about those who can't make it ?? If I were the one who can't make it, I think I make my own gethering for members who's in my situation !! But then again, that's my own opinion and that's what I would do !!!

This is my opinion, so please be gentle with me !! Don't reply back with some "strong" comments !! hahahah...
