So, I got this classic British tweed trench coat.

It's a size 52. I'm a size 44.

Any recommendations?

my dad says, it is too hard the labour to do so will cost more than the coat itself. he knows alot of tailors but.....thats what he told me. I tried.

If you are in the OC, there is a guy across the street from South Coast Plaza that I would highly recommend. I can't recall his name off the top of my head, but he's next to Morton's Steak House. All the shops in South Coast Plaza send their work to him.

From size 52 to 44 is big alteration and I can guarantee, no matter how good the tailor is, that it won't look right afterward, especially with tweed material. It would be like dissceting it and creating a brand new coat. Actually, you'll probably better off bringing the coat to a custom tailor and have them make you one with similar look.

I could understand if it was one or two sizes too big but 8 sizes too big is just too big.
