Nope, I run 8000k Fogs, and headlights so your 6000k wouldn't be a problem.

Oh I thought even running any aftermarket HID is technically illegal in CA no?

Would I be safe with cops if I ran a 6000k aftermarket HID kit + 6000k fogs non HID?

^Any aftermarket HID system period is technically illegal in every state due to DOT/NHTSA regulations. The more relevant question here is, "Will I be pulled over/hassled because of my 6000k HID's?" I have 6000k HID headlights, and I've never been pulled over once (knock on wood), so as long as your fogs are aimed properly, you shouldn't have a problem.

In the wonderful state of CA you can't modify your car without being illegal Even my grandma's car got pulled over for front tints and they came out stock. My friends IS300 got pulled over for altezza lights in the back which were stock as well. CA is kinda retarded like that.

just coz' you are not pulled over doesn't mean it's not illegal. any hid over 4100-4300k are technically illegal. hid conversion kits are technically illegal

not just conversion kits, even retrofitting in a car that did not originally come with HID is TECHNICALLY illegal.

'course ive never heard of anyone getting pulled over for retro, and the only kit conversion issues ive heard of are 8000k+ glare machines.

My motto...Its not illegal until u get caught...
I've never been caught with my HIDs, mainly because if its a higher-end car, then cops would think they come stock.
I also don't speed often, and i have a radar detector.
I have a 6000k kit, which is kind of pushing it, i think 5000k is safer.

I see class is in session.

FYI, with an 8K fog light kit, you almost have no advantage in usable light compared to your stock halogen bulbs.

Anything above 4100k is simply for others to see your lights, and not for your advantage. For the 2IS, fog light glare really isn't an issue seeing that it is a projector fog. (Where a 2GS might have some trouble here)

What's with kids and their "look at me" PNP kits these days?
