I'll be in Mammoth from Thursday till Sunday, so if you're planning to be up there, PM me before Thursday morning, and we'll try to meet up at Mammoth.

Default Mammoth or BUST

Went to Mammoth Dec. 28 - Jan. 2. It was siccck!!! Snow was soo powdery and soft. The runs are absolutely amazing. It took us 4 1/2 hrs to get there and 3 1/2 back. If not, Big Bear will suffice.

dang i dunno about boarding this weekend. it's either gonna be raining up there which will suck or it'll snow which is no fun either. um bring chains and drive slow. if you're a beginner, stick to summit.

I will check the weather and road condition before i go. Because 3 out of 4 cars can not put the snow chain.

I heard big bear has better trails, etc. but driving is a little tricky.. with this storm mt. high wont be too shabby and driving to and from is a piece of cake. try both locations. im heading there tonight and tahoe next weekend!

I was at Big bear on Sunday. Driving is terrible, chains are required for 2wd, less than 20mph all the way to from 330 to big bear lake. i have to use L and 2nd gear, snow mode was on all the way.

@scoarer. You can use cable, which is lower car and big tires friendly. I belive you can find your site at wal mart. I was using 265/35/18 with out any problem.

a lot of places won't let you return chains/cables even if unused. i think walmart or those big stores allow you to tho... so double check their return policy.

in other news... has anybody been to baldy? any opinions on it? i'm tempted to go there since it's so close and the conditions look good. plus i've never been there before so interested in checking out some place new.
