Now on to the ticket, go to court and say 70mph on a left hand turn and bald tires is impossible. BTW they can not site you for bald tires just because you are using that line in court. If you are lucky the cop won't show up. If you are extremely lucky the judge will see how a left hand turn doing 70mph in a city street is unlikely. Get the police report and study it and croos examin the cop. Good luck

Exactly. Judges are more likely to side with you if you use logic to support your position, they aren't fools...they know officers aren't always perfect.

Like T-Rex06 said, if the cop really want to "spend some time with you" he or she can cite you for anything over the limit. The speed he wrote down might not necessarily be correct, but you might have better chances of telling the judge you had to drop the kids at the pool really really bad then bald tires causing the squeal (not exactly a really good example or comparison, but you get the point) The police can cite you for almost anything you have on your car that's not OEM, for example; my friend's boss got a ticket for rocking 22" wheels, the police told him it's too big and unsafe for the road... I think the cop had nothing better to do to write him that ticket, but what can you say? Slow down on turns, get new tires, pay the ticket (ask the nice people at the counter for some reduction on the fine), go to traffic school and just get on with life. Good luck to you if you wanna fight it though

If a cop writes down the wrong info of your car on the ticket, can you get out of it? I drive a GS 300 but he wrote GS 430 on my ticket.
Nevermind.
