Question Worried about Lexus Santa Monica

I bought a 2008 Lexus LS460 at Lexus Santa Monica at the end of October. They told me they had NOT charged my credit card with the $500 deposit they took when I ordered the car. So at the end of October I paid the full amount I had to pay. Weeks later my credit card statement showed that they had charged me the $500. I emailed them on November 28 and they said they would refund the $500 but they haven't yet. They boast that they spent $25 million or so on the showroom, so I am worried they are going bust. Am I being unreasonable expecting a refund of the overcharge after 2 months? Are they going bust? If I overcharged a customer I would refund immediately.

May I suggest you go down to the dealership with your:
1. credit card statement
2. copies of paperwork for LS460 purchase

You can go any day of the week during normal sales hours and ask to see the Finance Manager on duty. Show him/her your paperwork and ask for an immediate $500 credit to your card. It takes 2 minutes to do.
Then in about 2 days, call your credit card company to make sure the credit is there.

Good luck.

Default Lexus Santa Monica finally coughed up

Thanks for all your helpful comments. Good News. Lexus Santa Monica finally paid me the refund, on January 7. Maybe posting my problem in this forum had something to do with that.
Another person I know who traded a BMW for a new Lexus at Lexus Santa Monica on November 23 has also received the $thousands check for her trade-in. She was told it would take 2 - 3 weeks before she received a check. She received it in January - 6 weeks after the transaction date.
It seems that Lexus Santa Monica is just using the little guy's money as much as possible. It certainly gives a different impression than the super-friendly talk of the sales people.
