Default Window Tint Ticket

Hey everyone, I just received a ticket for window tint in the Orange County California area (Irvine). The cop who gave it to me said something about the tickets no longer being fix-it tickets but actual fines now. I dont quite understand this. Does that mean I will have to go to court? Will I have to show them I took off my tint or can I leave it on and just pay the fine? He said the fine is going to be around 80 bucks. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.

I think you would have to pay for the fine but its not mandatory to go to court unless you plan on fighting it.

I could be wrong.

Hmm, I got a tint ticket in the summer of '07. It was a fix-it ticket, easily resolved w/ an officer signing off on the ticket. Not sure if anything has changed since then.

what you do is get a receipt that the tint was removed, request a court hearing. you will be told to go to a pretrial where they offer a plea, @ that point you show the receipt that you removed the tint and the charges get dropped. i did this myself and still have my tint on. OH YEAH, IT DOESNT GO ON YOUR DRIVING RECORD!!!!!! it is as if you never got the ticket. you can go to any tint shop and ask them for a removal receipt @ a small fee of course.

H'mmm......so you are going before the court and lying with the phony receipt?? You don't see anything wrong with that?? It's up to everyone whether they want to break the law, but at least man up and accept the consequences without trying to weasel out of it.

Thats your problem right there.. cops in irvine give tickets for everything. that area's too safe and the cops get bored... my friend ran across the street to go to school and got a jaywalking ticket. move to the ghettos, they wont hassle you over car mods over there. haha
