Default Oil Change in S. Cal ?

Any recommendations to get an Oil Change done besides the dealer? In LA or OC area.

Do It Yourself once and you'll never have to trust anyone ever again.

Just get some basic 4 ton jack stands, your stock jack, 14-15mm wrench, oil catching pan/container, and a oil funnel. All this will cost you like 50-60 bux depending on where u go.

Just jack up the car, put the two jack stands in solid spots behind the two front wheels, take out the oil pan bolt, undrain your used oil into your oil container, re-torque oil bolt, unscrew oil filter with your hand, reinstall new filter. Add 5.4 quarts of oil of your choice w/ funnel and lower down car. DONE. This will take no longer than 20-30 minutes using your stock jack. If you have a professional jack an oil change shouldnt take you longer than 10 minutes. Make sure u despose of the used oil. Any pepboys or autozone will take it for free.

Nothing better than a job well done by yourself and knowing for sure that your oil is changed w/ the preferred oil and oil filter of your choice.

Pepboys, Autozone, and Costco all have promo deals on gallon oil jugs with oil filters for cheap. Just try it once.

Oh yea these are the instructions for a 2GS3

+1 for Dynamic Auto Services. I used to do my own oil changes for years, but got tired of crawling around under the car in the driveway. Dymanic did my 120K service (timing belt, water pump, plugs, serp belt, etc) 3 years ago and I've been taking the car to them for everything since then. I don't miss crawling around under the car a bit.

I recommend Son at Dynamic. The money you save doing it yourself is not worth the trouble.

+1,573 for Dynamic. I don't trust anyone else with my GS!

I recently changed my own oil because Dynamic's driveway is nearly impossible for me to get out of (Explosion bumper + dumped GS = can't take it anywhere)... I have to say, by the time I bought the Lexus filter and 6 quarts of oil (the 1UZ takes 5.5 quarts), I could have paid Son to do it and I wouldn't have to crawl under the car and dispose of the used oil.
